NewRegisterHouseThe Royal Celtic Society's next members' event will be a drinks and canapes reception on Friday 6th October 2017, to coincide with this year's Annual General Meeting.

For this occasion, we are privileged to be permitted the use of the magnificent Dome Room in Edinburgh's New Register House, the principal, fireproof repository of Scotland's national records.  95 feet in height, this splendid location takes the form of five stories of galleried shelving, housing over half a million volumes.  This facility was completed in 1861 and has been earmarked for closure by the Scottish Government, to be replaced by a modern, purpose built record office.  This might, therefore, be one of the last opportunities to see this iconic venue.

At the reception which will follow the AGM, our guest of honour will be our member, Dr Joseph Morrow QC, the Rt Hon the Lord Lyon King of Arms, who will formally present the Society with its newly-recorded Coat of Arms, before giving a talk on the role of the Court of the Lord Lyon in the 21st century.
