Comann Rìoghail Ceilteach

Fad dlùth ri 200 bliadhna tha an Comann Rìoghail Ceilteach air thoiseach san t-srìth gus taic a chumail ri cànan, litreachas, ceòl agus cultar na Gàidhealtachd ’s nan Eilean Siar. Tha an Comann a’ cumail thachartasan riaghailteach do na buill, a’ toirt seachad buinn air son feabhas an ceòl ’s an litreachas, agus a’ cuideachadh sreath farsaing de bhuidhnean a tha a’ cumail suas dualchas, cànan agus ealain na Gàidhealtachd ’s nan Eilean.

Elizabeth RoadsThe Society's Spring Lunch will take place on Sunday 19th March at the New Club, 86 Princes Street, Edinburgh EH2 2BB and there is still time to book your places for this event, if you haven't already done so.

Members and guests are invited to arrive at the Club for pre-lunch drinks at 12.30 pm, followed by lunch at 1.00 pm.  Our guest speaker for this occasion is Mrs Elizabeth Roads LVO, Snawdoun Herald and Lyon Clerk, who will be sharing with us some of the highlights of her career of more than 40 years with the Court of the Lord Lyon King of Arms.

We are grateful to council member Sir Iain Fraser for arranging this event.

This is the first in a series of events for members which are planned for this year.  Forthcoming events include a visit to Dirleton Castle in East Lothian, hosted by Andrew Sprat, Historic Scotland's custodian at the property, on Sunday 9th July, which will be followed by lunch at Duck's Restaurant in nearby Aberlady.

The 2017 Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 8th October when our guest of honour will be Dr Joseph Morrow QC, the Rt Hon the Lord Lyon King of Arms, who will formally present the Society with its new Coat of Arms.
