The Royal Celtic Society's next event will be a lunch for members and their guests at the Barony Castle Hotel, Eddleston, Peebles on Saturday 24th September 2016.  Events will begin with a drinks reception and lunch.  After lunch, there will be the opportunity to view the Great Polish Map of Scotland, constructed by Poles to recall the role of the castle in training Polish airmen during the Second World War.  At 50 metres in diameter, this is the biggest relief map in the world.

In an exciting addition to the advertised programme, event organiser May McKerrell of Hillhouse has confirmed Mr Dariusz Adler, Poland's Consul General in Edinburgh, will join us for lunch and will afterwards speak on the links between Poland and Scotland.  We are grateful to Mr Adler for offering us his time, and to May for securing such a distinguished guest speaker.

The Annual General Meeting of the Society will conclude the day's proceedings.

Members and guests will gather for a drinks reception at 12.30 pm, followed by lunch at 1.00 pm, concluding with the Consul General's talk.  We will also be joined for lunch by Keith Burns, Project Manager, who will give an illustrated talk on the Great Polish Map of Scotland at 2.30 pm, before conducting a guided tour of the map itself.  The Annual General Meeting of the Society will take place at 3.30 pm.
