RCS Expands Committment to Gaelic Education

ParksideThe Royal Celtic Society has for many years supported Parkside School, Edinburgh's Gaelic medium Primary school, with a small annual donation towards their work in bringing the Gaelic language to early years children and in their active use of Gaelic in education.

Recently the Chairman met with the Head Teacher at Parkside, Mrs Anne MacPhail, and Ms Sineag MacIntyre, the Head of Creative Arts, to discuss how the Society's support might be better employed in supporting the school's objectives.

RCS Lecture Series to Resume

nrh dome seminar facilityThe Royal Celtic Society's public lecture series, running from September through to March, will resume on Wednesday 12th September.

The speaker is world renowned tartan expert and handloom weaver Lt Col Peter Eslea Macdonald TD, Head of Research for the Scottish Tartans Authority, who will speak on Tartan as a Jacobite Symbol.  The event will take place at 1.00 pm in the magnificent setting of the Dome Room, New Register House, West Register Street, Edinburgh EH1 3YT.
